Domain Registration

The most common domain types being used in Japan are:

Domain Type	Comment
mydomain.jp	everybody can register
マイドメイン.jp	only useful in Japan
mydomain.co.jp	reserved for registered companies
mydomain.com	general purpose
mydomain.org	general purpose
mydomain.net	general purpose
mydomain.biz	general purpose
mydomain.info	general purpose

Note: mydomain is a place holder for your domain.

First Choice Internet can register these domain types as well as any other domain type for you. Normally you register a domain for one year and then you need to renew registration for every year.

Any given domain name can only be registered once. For this reason we cannot promise you to register your favourite domain. Instead we need to check beforehand whether the domain is still available.

Registration Procedure

1. Customer provides list of preferred domain names
2. First Choice checks availability of domain names
3. Customer pays registration fee
4. Upon receipt of funds First Choice registers the requested domain name
5. First Choice set ups additional services like website or mail accounts

It is also possible to register and to renew a domain for several years. This is cheaper and more convenient that a renewal every year. Please contact us if you require further details.

Customers' own Domain

If you should wish to register your domain yourself please go ahead and do so.
We can still provide you with a nice website and with hosting.
However, in this case you need to change the name servers for your domain to our name servers. If you're unsure how to do this please contact us for detailed information.
