Surely an insurance company will pay for broken or stolen equipment but not for your data. As you may know about 3 out of 4 companies are going out of business within one year after having lost their main data!

 Service Content

Our data protection services are network backup services. Your data is securely transmitted to a Japanese data center. The backup is started automatically. Human intervention is only required if you should have to restore your data.

 Data Protect - Details

The data is copied from a computer located on the customers premises to the data center. Once per day all data changes are replicated to the data center. Thus you have an (almost) identical copy of your data in the data center.

Note
The data will be updated once per day (normally at night time). At that point in time both sets of data are identical.
If you deleted some data accidentally you can restore them before the daily data update but not after the update (following morning).

The Data Protect service gives you an additional Off-Site copy of your data. It is, however, not a replacement for a regular backup program! If you should require a backup solution please check our Net Backup service.

 Net Backup - Details

First Choice is operating a backup program which makes a backup or your data and stores them in the data center.
This allows you keep (and restore) backup data made some days or a some weeks ago.

Backup Cycle We are running a weekly backup cycle. Once per week we take a full backup and on all other days we take an incremental backup.
You must store at least the data of a full cycle. We recommend, however, to store the data of 2 or 3 cycles. This gives you additional safety in case of accicental deletion of data.

Example:
Somebody deletes by mistake a subdirectory with historical though important data. This mistake is only noticed after a bit more than a week.
If you keep 2 cycles of backup data you can restore the whole subdirectory but if you keep only 1 cycle the data is not available any more!

We recommend the NetBackup service to all customers who do not run any other regular backup program.

This fee includes:

• Setting up the backup system on our server
• Backup data to be collected from one customer client (computer)
